Oklahoma State University-Stillwater division of Student Affairs has initiated a national search for a Assistant Coordinator of OSU’s Student Disability Services. The Assistant Coordinator reports to the Coordinator of Student Disability Services, which is a department within University Counseling Services. Oklahoma State University is a land grant institution and its main campus has an enrollment of approximately 23,000 students. Stillwater is a town of 49,504 located an hour from either Oklahoma City or Tulsa.
The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for: the provision of services and accommodations to ensure access for students to OSU courses, services, and programs; determination of rider eligibility for the OSU/Stillwater Paratransit; coordination of activities to promote disability awareness and Student Disability Services; and establishment of resources to promote greater access to OSU and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or related field with 3 years of experience providing services to individuals with disabilities (1 year experience in postsecondary strongly preferred). Candidates should have demonstrated capacity to work effectively with faculty and staff, provide resources, assess needs, work with local and state disability agencies/organizations to coordinate disability awareness activities, advocacy, cooperative projects; and coordinate with K-12 personnel to address transition needs of students. Skills in American Sign Language are preferred. SALARY: The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
