Provide statewide leadership for the administration of educational programs for STEM development, opportunities, and initiatives. Lead the integration of STEM both internally, within the agency and externally within the CareerTech System.
Requires bachelor's degree. Prefer master's degree in science, technology, engineering, math education or related field. Five years' experience in supervision, coordinating or teaching required. Minimum requirements also include prior people leadership experience, familiarity with school law. Related teaching certificate preferred. Knowledge of the Career Tech system helpful. Travel required.
Position based in Stillwater, OK.
Plan, develop implement and provide continuous improvement for high-quality STEM programs.
Coordinate supervision within the STEM division to assure program quality to meet local program needs and to ensure continuous program improvement.
Plan, develop and coordinate professional development opportunities for staff and teachers and provide technical assistance and support to instructors based on priorities and needs.
Collaborate with internal partners to ensure STEM initiatives are communicated throughout the system.
Help integrate STEM throughout the Career Tech System.
Provides data, reports, public relations, and assistance to the deputy state director for use in maintaining program standards.
Prepare and monitor STEM division budget for the operation of programs and services.
Provides leadership to the Technology Students Association and other STEM-related CTSOs.
Develop a STEM strategic plan to enhance the opportunities available to students.
Represent the agency on state and national committees and professional organizations.
Use state and national math/science standards to strengthen career and technology education programs to increase student academic achievement and close the gaps among all student populations.
Act as a contact person and liaison between ODCTE and the State Department of Education's math and science directors.
Provide technical assistance to instructors and other staff in promising practices in STEM education.
Salary/Benefits: $59,575 - $68,511 commensurate with education or experience. Total salary and benefits package valued at $72,352 - $81,961.
